Prof Richard Rose

Richard
Professor of Inclusive Education, University of Northampton

Richard Rose is Professor of Inclusive Education and Director of the Centre for Education and Research at the University of Northampton.He has previously held posts as a teacher and Principal in schools and has worked as a tutor and researcher at the Universities of Birmingham and Leicester. He also held a position as Visiting Professor at the Hong Kong Institute of Education. His funded research as Principal Investigator includes:
•    Project IRIS: A longitudinal study over three years examining how special education is provided within Irish schools, the experiences of pupils/students with special education needs receiving this education and their associated outcomes.   Funded by the National Council for Special Educational Needs. (Irish Government) (2009 – 2012) £400,000
•    A Value for Money and Policy Review Initiative, Special Needs Assistant Scheme. Funded by the Department of Education and Science, Ireland, Dublin. (2008 – 2009) £40,000
•    The Mental Health of Children with Complex Needs. Funded by Knowledge Transfer Partnerships 2011 – 2012 £60,000
•    An evaluation of school practices for the promotion of effective special needs management in Hong Kong Schools. Funded by the Hong Kong Research Council. (2008 – 2009) £20,000

Profa. Enicéia Mendes

Professor of Special Education, Federal University of São Carlos – UFSCar

Degree in Psychology at the University of São Paulo – FFCLRP, (1981), Master in Special Education at the Federal University of São Carlos (1987), PhD in Psychology from the Institute of Psychology of the University of São Paulo. Professor, Department of Psychology, Federal University of São Carlos (1989-current). Operates in the Graduate Program in Special Education (MA and Ph.D.). Leader of the Research Group on Human Resources Development in Special Education (GP-FOREESP) and National Observatory of Special Education (Oneesp). Productivity Research Fellow of the National Council for Research and Technological Development (CNPq), 1C level. President of the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Special Education (ABPEE). Internships abroad (the United States and Peru), and post-doctoral fellow at Université Paris V-Sorbonne in France (2007-2008). Works in the area of Special Education and Inclusive Education, conducts research about educational policy and training professionals to work with students with disabilities.
